SATO Launches New Sales Branch in Johor, Malaysia

Shah Alam, Malaysia, May 2, 2019 – SATO, a global pioneer in the development of auto-ID and labeling solutions, announced the launch of new sales branch office in southern region of Malaysia in the state of Johor Darul Takzim from April 2019. The office is located in the capital city of Johor state, Johor Bahru. By establishing SATO Auto-ID Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Johor Branch), SATO seeks to better serve customers in the southern part of peninsular Malaysia and contribute towards the country’s economic growth.

SATO Auto-ID Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is the regional sales and support unit of the SATO Group in Malaysia, incorporated in 2004 and located in Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan. SATO has maintained its presence in Malaysia through a strong business network of authorized business partners and affiliate resellers. With the new branch, SATO seeks to strengthen its foothold in Malaysia with world-class auto-ID and data collection solutions for manufacturing, retail, logistics, health care and government agencies.

Johor is the third largest state in Malaysia by population and located in south of Peninsular Malaysia. There are two main southern development economic corridors in Johor; namely Iskandar Malaysia¹ and the East Coast Economic Region (ECER)². Johor Bahru has the highest population among the 10 districts in Johor with about 1.49 million³ and the current GDP growth rate is 4.7 percent. Furthermore, Johor state is strategically located near the main commercial trade routes, closer to international trading hubs and supported by the systematic logistic networks which have been a strong driver of Johor’s economic development. According to the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research, Johor will have to achieve a real annual growth rate of 8.9 percent a year if it is to meet the government target GDP per capita of RM43,072.00 ($10,400) by 2020.
